High Power News
NEW MATCH: Lovebug Challenge!
Central Florida Rifle & Pistol Club announces a new high power event. The Lovebug Challenge is a three-day event, including squadded practice, midrange prone, and across-the-course matches. The dates are April 27-29, 2012. This event will take the place of the Sunshine State Games events that CFRPC has done in the past. With your support, this will hopefully become a yearly event nicely placed a month after Malabar's OBR and a month before Creedmoor’s Eastern games.
Match Schedule:
Friday morning, April 27 - Squadded practice
Saturday, April 28 - 600 point Midrange
Sunday, April 29 - 800 Point XTC
NRA fees, awards and a t-shirt are included in the entry fee. See match program and entry form below.
February matches & possible State Championship match
For Feb 25th and 26th, 2 days of Midrange Fun...independent matches, you can shoot both days OR either day...your choice...register 8-8:45, shooting by 9AM, both days will be shot from the 300 yd line, unless there is bad weather.
Just a note here, it is still a ways out, however, there is a plan afoot for CFRPC to team up with the FSSA to host a state championship match weekend INSTEAD of the normal Sunshine Games we normally have done over the past several years... Friday April 27th would be a practice day, Saturday April 28th would we a State Championship 300 yd Midrange and F-Class and Sunday April 29th would be a 80 shot NRA 200-300yd state championship... more to follow from Jeff Stuart and Bob Stokes...

Target pit "shade" cover complete
We have completed the construction of the target pit shade cover at CFRPC, no more dragging out the vinyl covers or having no shade at all in the summer...thanks to Robert Vogel and Ken Devlin for helping me assemble and lift the sections into place. I will be adding a small gutter or drip edge before long...no need to expose the pit workers to Chinese water torture...
A couple of pics are below...
